At least 20% of goods sold in the market are fake. Consumers who genuinely want to purchase authentic products are often left with no choice but to trust the seller. But, sometimes even the sellers are unaware that they are selling fake products. What is the solution for this problem? The solutions should address these points:
- It has to be accessible by all consumers
- It has to be cheap to implement, as it should not affect the price of product
- It should be easy to use for the consumers
- It should be safe and cannot be hacked
The most common product authentication options available today is QRCode, 3D Hologram and combination of both. Sadly, these methods are not reliable because these are basically images that are captured using the camera of the smartphone. It is known fact that images can be copied and duplicated easily, therefore product verification based on images alone is completely useless.
We solved this problem by using latest NFC Tags. Our technology leverages the copy protection mechanism found in NFC tags and provides the platform to track and verify the originality of any physical products. Most smartphones today comes with NFC capability built-in. So, it is no longer a barrier to bring this technology to the masses.
This process begins by, first product manufacturers register themselves in our portal at https://www.orygene.io/portal and obtain unique serialization QRCode. This QRcode will then be imported into standard smartphone or dedicated NFC device. Using this secure profile, blank NFC Tags can be serialized based on the product setup in the portal. This process creates unique binding between the NFC Tags and the product information.
Our platform uses highly secure 2048-bit RSA keypairs and digital signatures based on open security model which is also recorded in blockchain.
We are proud to be the pioneer to bring this revolutionary technology to the masses.
